This procedure is done for some women who have excessive ptosis (sagging) of the breast and is done by plication (pleating) of the fascia of the pectoralis major muscle. In selected women with ptosis, the breast can be lifted using this procedure and avoid the scarring of a conventional breast lift (around the nipple and down). Dr. Metcalf only performs this procedure with implants, and not on its own.
