The Brazilian butt lift is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the U.S. Without using an implant, a Brazilian butt lift helps individuals attain shapelier and more defined buttocks. Weight loss, aging, and genetics can cause your butt to look flat. Today, a rounder-looking posterior is more preferred than a flat behind. Using your own fat, the Brazilian butt lift adds volume to the buttocks. To do this, Dr. Angelo Cuzalina utilizes a fat grafting and transfer technique. This technique uses Smartlipo™ or VASER liposuction to remove fat from a specific part of your body and then injects it into your butt. With an artistic perspective and many years of experience, Dr. Cuzalina can create stunning, natural-looking results at Oklahoma Surgical Arts & Tulsa Surgical Arts.
During your procedure, we will use anesthesia to help you remain comfortable. As an outpatient treatment, a Brazilian butt lift takes about 2 – 3 hours, but the timing depends on the amount of fat that we remove. At the beginning of your surgery, we start by using liposuction to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the lower back, upper thighs, stomach, and flanks. Using precise and safe techniques, we remove the fat and place it within a sterile centrifuge. After the fat is purified, we carefully place it into syringes, inject it into the buttocks, and massage the skin to ensure the surface looks even. We repeat this step until reaching the desired fullness.
If you want more voluptuous curves, the Brazilian butt lift is an easy way to remove fat from undesirable areas of the body while enhancing your bottom. The result is shapelier-looking buttocks with a heightened hourglass shape. A BBL is especially beneficial if you want to boost your appearance without silicone implants or invasive surgery that may increase your risk of complications.
During your consultation, Dr. Cuzalina will listen to your goals and determine if you have enough fat to remove for the transfer process. If you have lighter body weight or a limited amount of fat, you may not qualify for a Brazilian butt lift. Also, you should have good skin laxity. If your lower body has loose and sagging skin, you may require a butt lift with surgery. However, if you maintain a good weight, have enough fat to extract and transfer, and want to avoid an implant, a Brazilian butt lift can help you achieve your desired results.

After a Brazilian butt lift, we will monitor you and then send you home to recover. As you heal, please keep in mind that you will need to care for two treatment areas. We will provide detailed post-treatment instructions that outline how to manage your incisions, liposuctioned areas, and discomfort. In both treatment areas, you will experience some bruising and discomfort. For at least two weeks, patients should try to avoid placing weight on the backside. After the swelling has subsided, you can see your results, but generally, it requires about 4 – 6 weeks before seeing your final outcomes. Once fully healed, your backside will appear more round and shapely. Even better, liposuction can make your results look more beautiful by removing unwanted fat from the tummy, thighs, or love handles.
